We are seeking an Energy Engineer to join our team! The Energy Engineer will have the responsibility for all aspects of the design and installation of holistic and integrated energy performance projects at commercial, residential, and industrial facilities. This position requires experience with and understanding of both energy-consuming systems within facilities (HVAC, lighting, compressed air, steam, refrigeration, process loads, etc.) and distributed energy systems available to facilities (solar PV, solar thermal, battery storage, etc).

What You Will Be Doing

Responsibilities:


" Develop energy efficiency and distributed energy measures that are appropriate to the operating requirements, energy-consuming systems, and energy management systems of the facility

" Perform site surveys to assess energy efficiency and distributed energy opportunities including client interviews and facility energy assessments. Site surveys may include gathering nameplate data, conducting lighting fixture counts, reading blueprints, gathering mechanical schedules, and taking electrical amp readings as needed

" Develop project performance economic metrics

" Identify infrastructure upgrades

" Establish project budgets, materials procurement timelines and permitting timelines

" Create and submit permit sets on applicable projects

" Analyze 15-minute interval data to establish baseline energy consumption and demand response capacity

" Communicate results to clients, sales staff, and utility contacts

" Assist sales staff in selling energy conservation products and services to clients.

" Interpretation of the desired outcome into a detailed plan that can be implemented by a project team

" Planning and forecasting of the project

" Acquisition of appropriate staff, materials, and equipment

" Keeping the project on budget

" Management of the project team

" Troubleshooting problems as they arise on a project finding efficient and effective solutions

What You Need for this Position

Qualifications:


" Minimum 3 years experience in engineering and design of multifaceted energy efficiency and distributed generation projects

" Minimum 3 years experience with LED lighting and advanced controls design

" Minimum 2 years experience with Solar PV and battery storage design

" Minimum 3 years experience with HVAC equipment and controls design

" Minimum 3 years experience with utility data processing and analytics

" Certified Energy Manager certification from Association of Energy Engineers a plus

" M.S./M.E. degree in mechanical or electrical engineering

" Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUP or similar drafting software

" Experience with Aurora and Energy Toolbase or similar PV design software

" Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and a general computing background.

" Demonstrated capability in technical/business writing.

" Great people skills.

" Exceptional communication skills

" Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to completion quickly

" Ability to complete projects on time and meet deadlines.

" Ability to organize and remain productive in an unstructured environment

" Ability to self-start and work independently

" Ability to be coached and mentored

" A technical and/or service-oriented background in facilities management, energy management systems, energy consulting, mechanical or electrical contract management services, or utility services.So, if you are a Energy Engineer with experience, please apply today!
