Network Systems Administrator I Position Summary: The Network Systems Administrator I will assist in the designing, planning, implementation and performance tuning for all mission critical enterprise systems and enterprise network in our data center environment. They will participate in technical research and development to provide continued growth for the IT infrastructure. This person will ensure that all network hardware, system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational and departmental values. Roles & Responsibilities:
Configure, deploy, and maintain as requested the companies enterprise operating systems, enterprise applications, backup systems and storage systems.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with corporate standards, and project/operational requirements.
Configure, deploy and maintain all switches, routers and firewalls to properly secure all corporate assets and data.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
Analyze problems, recommend solutions, products, and technologies to meet business requirements & objectives
Monitor and configure systems as needed to resolve anomalies, update OS, applications, firmware, security patching and
Monitor vendor websites for potential threat alerts and software upgrades
Evaluates and performs planning, testing, and implementation of software and hardware for all data center servers, storage, firewalls, switches, UPS and wireless.
Apply operating system updates, patches and configuration changes to all Data Center servers
Maintains system documentation and configuration data for regulatory and audit purposes
Add, remove or update user account information and reset passwords as needed
Manage, assign and maintain the list of network addresses
Manage all network servers, WANs, LANs, VPNs and other network components including installation, configuration and maintenance
Manage wireless infrastructure including installation, configuration and maintenance.
Provide support for Active Directory, Windows servers, SQL servers and the AS/400.
Coach and guide IT staff, helpdesk and other departments as needed on proper security procedures and processes pertaining to corporate assets and there use.
Provide helpdesk support for network, server, desktop, wireless and user access issues as needed
Perform additional task as directed
Job Requirements: Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
MCP certification a plus
MCSE certification a plus
Experience:
3-5 years’ recent experience in Network Administration.
2-3 years professional experience with current network security protocols, hardware & software
1-2 years’ experience creating project plans and managing IT related projects
Previous experience with Network infrastructure design.
