Summary

Mob Armor is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in Santa Maria, CA. We are looking for an analytical problem solver who can provide hi-level accounting support.

You will directly contribute to Mob Armor's success by providing professional level, cross-functional accounting support that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature for the company. The Accounting Manager will work directly with administrators and managers to complete company-wide ERP system projects, monthly reporting to management and help to direct the monthly close process. This position will help implement more comprehensive company-wide financial controls as Mob Armor continues to grow.

Besides playing an integral part to Mob Armor's growth and success, you will provide hi-level accounting expertise. Success in this position will be achieved through initiative, communication, organization, collaboration and the ability to drive projects and problems to resolution. You will be challenged with activities as described below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following list. Other duties may be assigned:

Cost Accounting

• Research trends in inventory cost history and provide reports to management.

• Internal audit of closed work orders for completeness and accuracy.

• Operate company-wide time tracking through our existing software.

• Operate and maintain accounting ERP system data.

• Assistance in the implementation of company-wide inventory cycle counting process and maintenance of this program from the accounting side.

• Quarterly review of inventory part status and proper accounting treatment of these parts in conjunction with Inventory Lead.

General Accounting

• Assure proper recording and documentation of financial transactions.

• Direct involvement with month-end, quarterly and fiscal year-end close processes for multiple entities.

• Analyze, interpret and perform variance analysis of financial data.

• Resolve problems associated with incorrect entries, deviations from established procedures, and other inconsistencies with accounting principles.

• Review journal entries posted by accounting staff.

• Examine financial documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting standards.

• Assist in identifying and implementing new technologies in support of business processes.

• Provide training, guidance and assistance to other employees, and may provide work direction to other staff.

• Contribute to and support yearend audit process, including, but are not limited to: audit schedules, lead sheets and variance analysis.

• Serve as a backup for accounting staff when unavailable, including but not limited to entering AP and AR invoices, printing checks, payroll, and processing expense reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for supervising the Accounting Assistant as well as Accounts Receivables positions.

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), statistical and mathematical presentation of data, ERP systems, advanced proficiency in financial and records management systems.

• Ability to interpret and follow instructions and policy guidelines.

• Ability to examine financial documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting standards.

• Ability to assemble and compile data used in the preparation of trial balances, financial statements and reports and investigate and resolve errors and discrepancies.

• Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.

• Team Player. This position will interface with multiple departments.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating, critical and time-sensitive deadlines.

• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related area or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of varied professional experience in accounting.

Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including ERP accounting systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Online Calendaring and Email as well as Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills including data filters, sorts and pivot tables.
