A well-respected company in the Arroyo Grande area is seeking a temporary Sr. Mortgage Underwriter. This position will last up to 6 months and will report to the Senior Credit Officer. This role calls for an independent underwriter who can handle intricate credit requests and analysis with little manager supervision while balancing relationships with internal customers.
Responsibilities:
⢠Underwriting and processing consumer loans, primarily Agency and Portfolio mortgage loans
⢠Handle nuanced financial analysis of credit requests
⢠Evaluate finance information and resident collateral to approve/deny consumer loans according to authorized limits while practicing effective communication to production staff and borrower
⢠Calculate risks of each loan and risk mitigation.
⢠Review and revise loan documents for accuracy according with Bank policy
⢠Accurately capture data quality and reporting within established timeframes.
⢠Proactively use internal and external resources to update relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
⢠Collaborate with team to ensure completion of loan application workflow
Skills/Experience:
⢠7+ years FNMA underwriting experience
⢠Strong working knowledge of Encompass and FNMAâs Desktop Underwriter
⢠Ability to obtain National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Registration, if not already obtained
⢠Demonstrate professionalism and excellent human relations with team and the Bank
⢠Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Internet is a plus!
⢠The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with limited supervision
⢠Excellent attention to detail
⢠Perform additional tasks within given deadlines as necessary
