Position Objective:

The 3D CAD Designer is a full-time, temporary position for approximately 4 months. There is potential for permanent employment but not guaranteed. The position reports to the Vice President of Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Create 3D mechanical layout, assembly and part fabrication drawings using SolidWorks 3D modeling software.

- Determine component specifications for overall system designs and create component Bill of Materials to assist procurement.

- Create assembly instructions and installation procedures for production department staff to follow.

- Prepare technical information for equipment/product datasheets.

- Specification of equipment for purchasing, issue RFQ's to vendors, quote comparison, vendor selection.

- Support engineering team members in all other engineering duties, including mechanical design and documentation, quality control, and manufacturing engineering QC where needed.

- Interact with Purchasing to source and specify new components and support system fabrication questions/concerns.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

- Strong mechanical design knowledge; specific attention to welded steel structures, plumbing and electrical conduit routing.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently without direct supervision.

- The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis in technical report writing.

- Utilize task management system to set deadlines, prioritize project work and meet those deadlines.

- Work under moderate supervision, make independent technical decisions.

- Ability to facilitate and participate in group meetings.

- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.

- Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule.

- Strong organization and record keeping skills.

- Good customer service relations and communication shills.

- Ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or experienced Drafter/Designer

- Direct experience with MS Office, AutoCad, SolidWorks (3D and Electrical), Catia, and ProE

- Familiarity with the engineering, design, and project management of water treatment processes, products, systems, and facilities.

- The ability to consistently produce quality work within budget and on schedule.

- The ability to work independently and closely with others.
