Job Summary:
The General Manager oversees all business operations of the Taproom Restaurant. This role will coordinate, organize, and train personnel to successfully achieve Company objectives by maintaining excellent guest service, food quality, and overall sanitation.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
-Manage and supervise all departments and managers
-Oversee separations and onboarding
-Training and development of all personnel
-Recommend wage increases and promotions based on productivity and efficiency of employees
-Evaluate personnel efficiency and productivity, complete performance evaluations for staff
-Handle complaints and discipline for employees
-Administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for violations of company policies, rules, or procedures
-Plan and assign work schedules as required by anticipated business activity
-Determining type of work, materials, supplies, machinery, or tools to be used by employees
-Control the flow and distribution of merchandise, materials, and supplies
-Ensure the safety of employees and property
-Enforce policies and procedures of the Company
-Prepare departmental budgets
-Assume overall responsibility for all aspects of the restaurant
-Order merchandise and beer for the restaurant and ensure all products received are in correct count and condition
-Collaborate with the Director of Retail Operations for best strategies to apply to the restaurant
-Work with management to ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards
-Complete administrative and human resource paperwork in an organized and timely manner
-Ensure all equipment and property is kept clean and in good working condition through inspections and preventative maintenance programs
-Control cash and receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures
-Fill in where needed to ensure efficient operations and guest service standards are met
-Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in management or a business-related field preferred.
-Three to five years of prior management experience as General Manager in a full-service restaurant is required. Must be 21 years or older.
-Must be able to obtain Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire. Must be able to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days of hire
-Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate and present information effectively before all levels of employees and management
-Ability to give high priority to customer satisfaction. Ability to take initiative, act promptly and be proactive
-Knowledge of P&L, budgeting, sales goals and forecasting
-Basic math skills and ability to use a POS system, ability to operate a computer, and proficient in Microsoft office suite of programs
-Able to work a minimum of 45 hours per week; able to work flexible hours necessary to manage and operate the restaurants effectively
-Employee must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
What Firestone Walker Offers:
-Competitive pay for an experienced individual with the right skills
-Starting salary range $85,000-90,000 a year, dependent on experience
