The Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort is looking for a full-time Junior Sous Chef. This position assists in supervising and coordinating the activities of Cooks and other team members engaged in preparing and cooking food. Observes workers engaged in preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods to ensure that methods of cooking and garnishing and sizes of portions are as prescribed; always keeps food costs in mind; assists in ordering food products from vendors; assists in creation of menus and in preparation of food; supervises all employees during set-up, service and breakdown for each meal period in each location; ensures food safety and sanitation procedures are followed and that the department maintains a high level of employee safety; and, helps train staff to achieve consistency. Requires at least five years culinary experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
