The Department of State Hospitals-Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout the State of California.
Food Service Technician I's are to serve or assist with the preparation of foods and beverages; to clean and maintain food service equipment, utensils, and work areas; as required, to instruct and work with helpers from the resident population; may instruct, lead, or supervise inmates, wards, or resident workers; and do other related work. Serve food cafeteria-style in patient dining rooms. Maintain order, cleanliness, and sanitation. Adhere to requirements for infection control and food safety /Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Adhere to requirements for safety, security, emergency response, and a non-hostile work environment.
