Local Geotechnical/Environmental Drilling Company is looking for an driller helper. Position will be based out of Lompoc office. Driller Helper will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the drill rig and onsite equipment including maintenance of mechanical equipment. Local Candidates only. Do not apply if you have a driving record that includes a DUI with in the last 5 years or multiple tickets, I can not insure you. Do not apply if you are not 100% reliable, and are not afraid of hard work, that means long hours outside in hot weather, rain, wind, etc.
Requirements:
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening
Clean Drivers License, no major violations in the past 5 years.
Must meet minimum insurance requirements by our insurance carrier and be approved to drive.
Prefer one year experience in well construction, operating well drilling equipment, general construction, welding and fabrication, or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required.
Will be working long hours with up to 5 days a week, 12 hour days, or less work depends on schedule if we are busy you are busy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

While performing this job the employee will be required to mix and evaluate drilling fluid and grouting materials according to established procedures; operate forklift, backhoe, generator and other small mechanical equipment, and perform maintenance on equipment. During the course of the position the employee will be using various tools and must operate these tools correctly; tools include pipe wrenches, chain tongs, pipe elevators, rig parts, shovel, drilling mud products and other tools required for the position. The employee is responsible for loading and unloading of all equipment. Employee is to continuously monitor drilling operations during the course of the job. Completes appropriate site cleanup.

Driller helpers perform hard physical labor that includes stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing and balancing, bending, twisting and crawling to do their work. The position requires prolonged periods of standing; up to 12 hours a day. Incumbent may often work on uneven surfaces. Position requires heavy lifting of equipment/materials of up to 50 lbs. and significant exposure to loud noises and vibration.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
