North American Fire Hose, a world leader in the manufacture of fire hoses, currently has an opening for a Quality Control Assistant to work the morning shift (8:00am to 4:30pm). In order to be considered for this position, please e-mail your resume.
Summary:
Perform daily routine and random inspections of raw materials, in-process parts and processes used in the manufacture of fire hose. Perform visual/physical inspections and test, engage in all levels of production for training purposes, work with field inspectors from UL and FM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform inspections of raw materials, purchased parts, in-process parts and finished products according to NAFH criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements
Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing
Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner
Inspect all areas of manufacturing to ensure quality standards are met
Evaluate Customer Returns and report results
Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures
Participate in the construction and/or revision of specs for cost effectiveness.
Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures and checklists
Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action
Report unusual circumstances or problems to Production Manager
Maintain a safe, well organized and clean work environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Good arithmetic skills are required
Some Quality Control experience is preferred, but not required
Demonstrate ability to multi-task and excel in a highly timeline driven fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of measurement instruments
General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
