Alliance for Pharmaceutical Access, Inc., a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization providing patient advocacy for medication access in Northern Santa Barbara & San Luis Obispo Counties. Founded in 2004, Alliance for Pharmaceutical Access is committed to its Mission of proving access to prescription medications, one patient at a time.
Job Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of the Alliance for Pharmaceutical Access, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to assisting individuals obtain their prescription medications, including personnel, program operations, volunteer management, grant writing/fund raising, accounting and grant reporting, and board/community relationships.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ADMINISTRATION, DONOR DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
Work in partnership with the Board of Directors and Collaborative Partners in the submission of grant applications and individual and corporate donor development, including thank you procedures and donor communications
Develop a calendar for managing grants received (reports, fiscal, claims, etc.) and complete all grant and/or contract requirements
Develop an annual fundraising event to support activities
Attend and actively participates in outreach events
Promote APA at various outreach events
Develops and disseminates outreach and marketing materials as needed
Develops an annual operations plan including staffing, fund development, and expansion
Oversees and schedules staff, volunteers, and clients for services
Ensures training of staff and volunteers to ensures the delivery of high quality services to APA clients, including direct provision of services and cross-training of staff and/or volunteers
Oversees the continuous improvement to program delivery protocols, including office procedures, and program utilization by the public
Provide accounting and bookkeeping oversight in partnership with APA's Treasurer and CPA.
Ensure accurate and timely compilation of demographic information and statistics of services provided
Gathers, assembles, updates and maintains complex databases, e-mail address books, mailing lists, rosters and related communication tools. Maintains files main and electronic
Suggest specific policy and operational recommendations for APA Board of Directors
Attends and actively participates in staff and board meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Human Services, social services or equivalent in education and experience
Ability to compose complex correspondence, materials and information using common formats, composition and grammar
Advanced knowledge of grant writing, management and fundraising
Advance-level proficiencies Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to maintain professional relationships with staff, Board of Directors, clients, consultants, community members, vendors and others as required to perform duties
Ability to work well under pressure, showing initiative with little supervision
Ability to reason logically and creatively
Excellent verbal and presentation skills
Bilingual, Spanish/English highly desired
Logistics:
Part-time, 32 hours per week
