Position Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Day and Hours: M-F, 6:45-3:15pm (occasional overtime, as needed)
Status: Full time, non-exempt
Location: Santa Maria, CA.
Purpose of the Position: To assist the Warehouse Manager with day-to-day activities of the Foodbank warehouse in an efficient and safe manner by ensuring communication and coordination between staff, volunteers, agencies, donors and vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. In collaboration with warehouse manager hires, trains and evaluates warehouse staff helping to ensure proper training and knowledge of Foodbank policies and procedures.
2. In collaboration with warehouse manager coordinates daily activities of warehouse operations as they relate to:
Staff supervision and assignments for Warehouse Assistants
Product rotation and quality
Safety standards, pest control and temperature logs
Staff training
Equipment maintenance
Inventory management and FIFO procedures using Ceres Database
Routine cleaning of warehouse and outside grounds and vehicles
3. Maintains positive working relationships with member agencies (customers) to determine their needs and inform them of Foodbank products and policies. Work collaboratively with Partner Services Manager to ensure problems with member agencies are addressed in a timely manner.
4. Solve immediate problems on the floor and make adjustments as necessary to meet the changing minute-by-minute demands of the warehouse.
5. Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality and accuracy of inventory.
6. When necessary participate in hands-on general warehouse duties including but not limited to loading and unloading of trucks and agency vehicles, warehouse cleaning, driving and other duties as necessary to accomplish the goals of the job.
7. Maintain positive working relationships with volunteers, maximizing their involvement in warehouse activities through supervision and coordination with Department of Community Engagement staff.
8. In coordination with warehouse manager document ongoing warehouse facility safety and sanitation procedures, conducting regular inspections to ensure sanitation, health and safety standards are met in accordance with Feeding America and local and state regulatory agencies.
9. Act as warehouse manager when warehouse manager is absent.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong computer skills with experience in using inventory databases and Microsoft Office Suite
Previous high level performance of customer satisfaction
Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance and stand for long periods of time
Clean DMV record
Able to pass a pre-employment back ground check, physical and drug screen
