Medical Historian/Scribe: Well established and busy private orthopedic, spine, and pain management practice in Santa Maria has a full-time opening (Monday to Friday) for a medical historian/scribe.
Job Purpose:
Obtain initial patient information and assist providers in order to increase efficiently and production of the provider they are working under.
Job Duties may include, but are not limited to:
⢠Interview patients and obtain medical history, job description, history of injury and treatment, present complaints, and social history.
⢠Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to enter patient data.
⢠Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician.
⢠Electronically fax completed office visit note to various parties including insurance companies and attorneys.
⢠Assist with front and back office tasks during downtime.
Skills and qualifications:
Applicant must have exceptional written and verbal skills and be proficient in typing and good at spelling, punctuation, and grammar. The applicant must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining great attention to detail. The applicant must also be reliable and punctual, professional, and have a willingness to learn. Excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience before attending medical school or physician assistant school. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
