The Payroll and Human Resource Specialist is responsible for the daily administration and maintenance of payroll, benefits, leave of absence, workers- compensation and other human resource matters. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned as necessary. Payroll: Processes bi-weekly payroll including benefits deductions and 401(k) funding
Maintains employee payroll records and processes updates resulting from employee status changes (i.e. new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations)
Processes final checks
Reviews submitted Team Member Action Notice forms for accuracy and completeness
Prepares monthly payroll reporting for entry into Accounting system
Maintains bi-weekly ACA payroll reports. Conducts periodic ACA audits
Coordinates with payroll vendor to prepare and file W2s
Other duties as assigned
Benefits:
Manages benefits eligibility and enrollment
Manages benefit terminations and COBRA notifications
Analyzes and reconciles health insurance deductions to billing statements
Maintains and reconciles vacation and sick time accruals
Completes EDD, disability, garnishments, wage orders, census and other state/federal filings
Manage auto insurance enrollment with insurance broker including driver qualification status relative to company policy
Prepares annual 5500 documents for final review by Human Resources
Responsible for ADP Benefit system updates and implementation
Responsible for annual open enrollment
Keeps up to date with supplemental benefit research to ensure we stay competitive in our market.
Qualifications
Bachelor-s degree in HR or business-related field (equivalent work experience considered)
3 - 5 years of experience processing high volume (250+FTEs) payroll; preferably working with cloud-based payroll system. Experience with ADP is a plus.
Working knowledge of California labor and pay regulations
Demonstrated Excel expertise
Fluent in Spanish a plus
