This Staff Accountant position is for candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To thrive in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a position you will thrive in, if you are a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.What you get to do every single dayIn-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Proficiency in GAAP Accounting
Command of Property Tax
Comprehensive knowledge of fixed assets
Foundational knowledge in account reconciliation
Experience with ERP systems
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
