Title: Customer Service Agent

Salary: $16/hr

Status: 6 month part-time employment (20-30 hours per week)

Start Date: May

Report to: Customer Service Lead

Job Description:

This person is responsible for championing exceptional customer service, taking a proactive approach to listening to our community, and reporting the right information back to the customer and internal teams. We are looking for a high energy person, with patience, and a strong sense of empathy in difficult situations. This person must be customer-centric, with a passion for cultivating great experiences.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing end customer needs (from orukayak.com customers to REI customers)

Customer support: answering customer questions when and where they come in (live chat, phone, email, social media)

Primarily focus on pre-purchase potential customers (Customer Sales), eventually addressing post-purchase customers (Customer Service)

Managing customer repair shipments and handling customer returns

Managing online feedback and reviews, helping with industry events, and planning meetups/demos for our community

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advocate for customers

High level of empathy

Team player

Outgoing: comfortable networking, meeting strangers, comfortable over the phone and in-person, etc.

Social media experience: experience with tools including social channels for businesses, actively participates in a wide variety of social media.

Interest in paddling: you need to be passionate about what Oru Kayak does

Willingness to work hard and play hard: This isnt a 9-5 job. The job involves working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members outside of work hours.

Confident, assertive self-starter who is extremely organized and goal driven

Familiarity with all levels of the consumer sales funnel is a plus

OTHER SKILLS THAT ARE A HUGE PLUS:

CRM experience

Experience managing customers

Familiarity with kayaking/the outdoor industry

Proficiency with MSOffice, GSuite, and creative software such as Adobe is a plus

Storytelling skills, especially in a public/group environment
