A local non-profit animal rescue is seeking a candidate for the Kitten Coordinator position. This is a part-time position (approximately 20-30/week); hours dependent on the demands of kitten season. The position includes working weekends during kitten season.
Duties include:
Oversee the adoption process at weekend adoption events including publicity for the events, planning and placement of the events
Oversee the volunteer and kitten databases
Recruitment, training and support of foster volunteers as well as acting as a point of communication
Maintain program related documentation
Order and maintain program equipment and supplies.
Social media posting for fostering, events (adoption and marketing) and kittens available for adoption
Assist in intake and preparation of kittens for placement in foster homes.
Assist in interfacing with local county shelter to obtain kittens for foster program
Experience and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and experience either working for or volunteering in an animal care environment and a passion for animal welfare
Ability to interact with the public in an engaging and professional manner
Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
Must have knowledge involving kitten care, health, and behavior
Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate others
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, & Outlook and being comfortable to learn and use new software
Ability to lift supplies and adoption equipment up to 30 pounds
Valid California Drivers License and proof of insurance
