The Ross Preschool is looking for someone wonderful to join our team. The most important qualifications are that you are a kind, responsible person who loves children. Whether you're new to the field of Early Childhood Education or you're a seasoned pro, we want to meet you!
We recognize that most preschools are currently shut down and we are looking forward to reopening ASAP. In the meantime we would like to find someone great who could start with us either this summer or in September!
Our play-based, nature-oriented preschool serves wonderful children ages 3 – 5. With beautiful indoor & outdoor classrooms, quality materials and a highly supportive parent community, this school is the ideal place for young children to play, learn and thrive. Our progressive philosophy focuses on teaching children important 21st Century Skills from critical thinking/problem solving and creativity to teamwork & character.

While ECE units are often a good indicator of one’s commitment to the field of Early Childhood Education, we are most interested in finding the right person/personality (within the first couple years of employment all employees must earn a minimum of 12 ECE units)

THE DETAILS:
Job Title: Preschool Teacher or Lead Teacher / Site Supervisor
Location: Ross, CA 94957
Typical Hours: 8:00 - 1:15pm, 8:15am – 3:15pm or 10:15am – 3:15pm (hours can be flexible) anywhere from 1 – 5 day per week during the schoolyear (summer opportunities available if interested)
Status: Full-time or Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Non-Benefited Position
Wage: $18 - $35/hour depending on experience and credentials.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Helps Supervisor plan and implement age appropriate curriculum, activities, and events for program year.
Provides continuous supervision of children in day-to-day activities as teacher; ensures health and safety of children.
Maintains preschool program rooms and play areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner; sets up rooms and areas for various activities, cleans up rooms and activities at end of program.
Monitors behavioral patterns and assists with assessment and child development profiles.
Communicates any situations, issues or concerns to Preschool Supervisor.
Communicates and keeps parents informed of any developments with their child.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Pre-employment Tuberculosis screenings will be required along with proof of Measles, Pertussis vaccinations
Live Scan DOJ/FBI fingerprint check
Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications.
[for teacher] Completion of twelve (12) units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses (core classes) preferred but not required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform physical activities such as but not limited to: lifting or carrying children or heavy items (up to 40 lbs.) unassisted, reaching, bending, standing, or walking.
