JOB TITLE: Personal Coach

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Employee (Personal Coach) will report directly to Parent Conservators while supporting T. Employee will contact the Mains’l Manager as soon as possible if there is a serious injury or hospitalization of T. T is a 21 year old very mobile by but Developmentally Delayed and Non-Verbal Autistic Male. Mains’l is the employer of record who handles all payrolls and associated benefits for Employees of T.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: T wants to gain skills in order to be able to transition to a Supported Living Environment away from his parents and sibling. T would like to prepare for a Vocation and needs assistance preparing him for outdoors trail maintenance employment as well as continuing his love of being an abstract Artist who can sell his Art.

A Personal Coach will provide:

Personal Care and support – in the home, in the community, etc.

Activities of Daily Living – Dressing, making the bed, laundry, showering and bathing, cooking and cleaning, helping with personal grooming, toileting etc.

Health and Fitness activities – support T to go on hikes, ride bikes, ride his scooter, etc.

Support and training for T to investigate, pursue and gain employment experiences in the community.

Providing support to help T develop and explore places where he can contribute to the community in a safe manner

Provide transportation support for T to visit potential Volunteer or Employment options and once employed to get him to and from work as a Job Coach

Support positive behaviors and communication with T following any specific plans or goals outlined by behavioral, occupational therapy, or communication support professionals

Ensure T’s safety while he is employed and in any community environment

Support as needed T’s opportunities to be engaged in the community

Work with IPAD daily activity scenarios that are meant to help T understand an Activity from beginning to end

SCHEDULE (what are your expectations around shift timelines, notification of tardiness or inability to work, consequences for consistent missed work)

The scheduled hours will vary based on each staff’s availability during the week, hours to be scheduled based on work and opportunities to explore contributions to the community, based on Trevor’s other interests and commitments.

Support is needed 7 days a week.

Shifts will be a maximum of 6 hours duration per employee per working day

Communication with Parent Conservators and updating T’s Team calendar during each work shift is required

Communicate 24 hours in advance regarding illness or emergency if possible and allow the Parent Conservators J&A to make alternate arrangements for T.

Call if not being able to make it on time for a shift as soon as possible

Consequences for consistent missed work commitments is termination or employment

TIMESHEETS

Timesheets must be completed by the employee and approved by Parent Conservator J, by the due dates given at orientation.Timesheets must be filled out correctly and completely to be paid on time. Timesheets are legal documents. Putting false information on a timesheet can result in termination of employment and fraud charges. Questions about payroll or timesheets should be directed to the Mains’l Manager.

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/JOB ACTIVITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

You must be willing to support T in outdoor activities (he enjoys trail maintenance, basket ball, riding scooter, hiking, biking, and swimming)

Prefer to hire folks who have a family member with a disability or have worked for or provided in home supports to lower functioning disabled adults

You must be willing and have some experience working with an individual who has learning, communication, and sensory challenges

Prefer experience supporting individuals in gaining and maintaining employment opportunities

Valid Driver’s License and vehicle with sufficient insurance that can be used to transport T if necessary (Mileage to be reimbursed) Both Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance will be required

You must have a Covid Test or be Vaccinated for Covid19 and proof one of these will be required before coming to the home to work with T

Double Masks with a Cloth Mask and a provided KN95 Mask which we have will be required per Dr. Fauci and CDC guidelines. We will also provide gloves and wipes as needed.

EXPECTATIONS:

Hourly pay is $25.00 per hour starting wage

Try out period is for 60 days where we understand and you will understand if there is a match for potential long term employment as a Personal Coach for T

After 90 days of consecutive employment Mains’l will be able to offer benefits if you work a minimum of 30 hours in a weekly pay period over a 90 day consistent period

Your compensation will be reviewed for potential increase if you are working with Trevor from your hire date into December 2021 to make any pay increase effective on January 1, 2022
