We are seeking INFANT/TODDLER/PRESCHOOL Teachers for our Early Head Start Program. Teachers are responsible for providing and modeling high quality responsive care and education that is respectful of the child's development and needs. Teachers provide a developmentally appropriate environment using our Curriculum. Teachers plan and implement a program designed to support the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development for individuals and groups of children both within the classroom and in outdoor play areas. Teachers observe and assess individuals and groups of children to ensure best practices. Early Head Start experience a PLUS but not necessary. We are willing to train. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Three references. Must be PASSIONATE about children. Proficiency in speaking and writing English. Prepare weekly curriculums. Prepare DRDP's & ASQ's. The health and safety and education of children. Provide attention to each child, responding to their needs for feeding, diapering, napping and other routines. Be a team player. Assist with meals and snack preparation. Stimulate emotional, intellectual and social growth of children by developing and directing age appropriate educational programs and activities. Motivated to work with children of all ages from infants to preschoolers. Arrive punctually. Toileting and diapering. Perform cleaning and organizing duties.
Must have the following EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION UNITS FOR A TOTAL OF 15 UNITS or MORE.
3 units in Child Growth and Development
3 units in Child Family and Community
3 units in Early Childhood Curriculum
3 more units in any ECE area
3 units in Infant Toddler
Pre-employment physical examination and TB / Measles / Pertussis / Flu clearance.
Permit mandatory. Must be passionate about children.
Official transcripts mandatory. Current certificates for Pediatric First Aid and CPR, including a total of 15 hours of preventative health and safety training, or completion of this training within 90 work days of hire. Mandated reporter certificate, or completion of this training within one week of being hired.
