Daytime Pastry Cook-Va de Vi Bistro
Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar, a dynamic, busy, full service restaurant in Walnut Creek is seeking a daytime Pastry Cook.
Applicants must fit the following profile;
Candidates should have a passion for quality food, service and working with a team.
Be well organized, highly self motivated, detail oriented and able to work in small spaces efficiently.
Good knife skills and basic cooking techniques.
Knowledge of different pastry ingredients and their uses.
Able to maintain a courteous, professional attitude in a busy, fast paced environment.
Communicate in English.
Contribute to creating and planning new menu items.
Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards, problem solve and take corrective action as needed to ensure quality standards are maintained.
We are looking for individuals who possess a strong sense of urgency and a positive attitude.
Positive demeanor and love of your craft is essential.
Fine dining experience preferred, Culinary school training is a plus.
Early am shifts including production.
Capable of creating and completing production lists in an efficient manner.
Multi tasking with production and plating during service hours.
Familiarity with cheese; correct storage, handling, cutting and presentation.
Responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations of the pastry department.
1-2 years experience in a professional restaurant pastry experience required.
