What You Will Do:

The Executive Chef reports to the Director of Operations and supervises the administration, production and service of food at NatureBridge’s Golden Gate campus. They work closely with the kitchen staff to perform the duties and responsibilities personally or through delegating. They collaborate with the Conference, Facilities and Education Departments in the supervision of service and cleanup of the Dining Room. This position takes place in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area near Sausalito, CA and does not allow for remote work.

Your primary job will be to:

-Oversee food preparation, production and service.

-Create menu plans for Education and Conference groups.

-Develop recipes and train staff in their preparation.

-Ensure the proper handling of food to ensure food safety.

-Place orders and process invoices from suppliers.

-Schedule the work hours of employees.

-Process timesheets for employees.

-Hire and manage employee work performance; supervise up to 10 kitchen staff

-Facilitate kitchen meetings and participate in meetings with other departments.

-Serve on the Operations and Administration teams and Housing Committee.

-Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Compensation:

-Starts at $25/hour, wage negotiable based on experience.

-Full benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid vacation, training days, and sick leave.

Who You Are:

We are looking for candidates who have:

-A degree in Culinary Arts and three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

-Experience in all aspects of food preparation for large groups.

-Current Food Safety Manager Level Certification

-Ability to lead and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

-Excellent customer service, communication, time management and organization skills.

-Experience with varied dietary restrictions and allergies.

-Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Internet.
