Permanent Part time Caregiver for a Disabled Senior Woman
The Client: Anne is a 71 year old who has been disabled for many years as a result of a stroke. She lives in a mobile home near Dominican Hospital with her beloved cat, and requires 24 hour assistance. She’s good-natured, friendly, smart, and has been fiercely independent much of her life. She’s predominantly wheel-chair bound of late, but is trying to walk more with assistance. She has episodic difficulty communicating clearly, often knows what she wants to say, but needs prompts to express herself.
Job Includes: Light housekeeping; doing laundry; changing bed sheets; shopping; scheduling appointments, and transporting her to them; doing meal prep, cooking, and cleanup; assisting with personal care, including transfers, showers and dressing. Help to organize and administer medications. Help her make and return phone calls. Work with Anne to stretch and strengthen her paralyzed arm and leg. Outside of the typical, necessary tasks, the job can also include taking Anne to swim, doing a shift with her at the SPCA, spending time at the library, or helping her socialize with others. Working with her to use her scooter, take her for walks, and to events that include social interaction, may also be involved.
Work Schedule: Tentative days and hours: Thursday and Fridays, 9am to 5pm. Hours may be flexible, and should be coordinated with the primary, live-in caregiver.
Wages: $20.50/hour, plus benefits, money is paid by In Home Supportive Services (IHSS). If you aren't signed up as a provider with them, we can hire you to work for Anne concurrently, while you undergo their training and intake process. This means passing a criminal background check and being able to work legally in the US.

Requirements:
Non Smoker.
A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and a registered, insured reliable vehicle
Fluent English speaker
Is current with COVID and flu vaccination.
You must be at least 18 years old.
CPR training is a plus.
