Well known San Francisco commercial photographer seeks a full-time digital studio manager to oversee all aspects of current work being created (shot digitally) as well as managing the archive of close to 2 million digital files (film scans and shot digitally). Ideal applicant is a person who has excellent computer skills (we are a Mac studio) and has solid understanding of Adobe Suite products and a desire to learn more and to get better using these tools. The outgoing employee will be training you. You must be able to handle a constant workflow of digital file management, inkjet printing, film scanning and digital retouching. Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign will be the main programs on the creative side, and a variety of file management software on the archive side.
A good starting point is strong Macintosh computer skills, interest in photography and interest to learn new skills.
Duties include the following:
film scanning
Retouching Photographs(photoshop/Lightroom)
digital inkjet printing
digital file management
managing digital workflow
managing the digital archive and all the back up systems
some InDesign work
Pre-press work for book publishing
IT management internally
