POSITION SUMMARY:
Project Leaders supervise large groups, organizing volunteers in completing one or two food sorting tasks per shift. This hybrid position bridges the Food Bank’s Operations and Development teams in ensuring food is packed and ready for delivery as well as representing the Food Bank to dozens of potential donors each day. The successful Project Leader is invested in the mission of the Food Bank. S/he is able to speak to a large group, teach people of all backgrounds how to complete a task, manage a busy room of volunteers, and operate heavy machinery.
SCHEDULE: Tuesday, Wednesday, 8:30am- 5:00pm; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Day’s off-Sunday and Monday. These positions are for P@H
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Warehouse Supervision and Projects
Train, supervise and assign volunteer groups with building and kitting food boxes grocery bags, and repacking produce gleaning
Organize appropriate projects for volunteer groups
Provide staff leadership that complement volunteer experience with an exciting intro and exit speech
Record productivity of volunteers
Ensure the safety of volunteers
Work with and back up the CSFP Operations Manager in the building and invoicing of the Supplemental Food Box program
Receiving and moving SFP palletized products using handheld scanners
Working with food resources on the agency invoicing using Ceres (ERP) and hand held scanners
Doing cycle counts (inventory) as required
General Warehouse Work
Use material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) in a safe manner to perform assigned projects
Organize product flow and storage to maximize space efficiency and maintain safety standards
Complete all paperwork for inventory transfers and dump sheets, accurately, and in a timely fashion
Assist with periodic physical inventories and ongoing inventory control issues
Assist in administering Workfare Program
Maintain records for Workfare program
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year experience in volunteer supervision or related nonprofit work preferred
Ability to do heavy lifting using reach forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work and interact well with individuals
Ability to motivate and organize individuals
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in the warehouse
Able to use a Computer
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Use of basic arithmetic to maintain accurate transactions

REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Frequent and regular movements using the wrists, hands, and fingers.
AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to view computer screens and documents.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Ability to lift 50 pounds
COMMUNICATION AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to interpret instructions.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Fluency in English. Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing.
SALARY: Grade 2 $39,583.93 to $52,778.23
