Immediate positions are available at a small South San Francisco biotech company for Part Time and Full Time Hourly Laboratory Technician - Entry Level.
Responsibilities/Job description:
1) Perform basic lab duties such as measuring concentrations and preparing dilutions on samples, assembling PCR reactions, running laboratory equipment, record keeping/paperwork, and various other lab tasks.
2) Assist with processing and packaging of oligonucleotides
3) Various other tasks - may include but are not limited to: Customer Service, Cleaning of Lab Supplies, front desk work, machine maintenance, optimizing processes, etc.
Preferred - Not Required:
1) Bachelors in a Biology related field, preferably Molecular Biology - Non Degrees are also welcome.
2) Approx 3 months to 1 year of lab experience in an academic or work setting - not required
3) Familiar with the use of pipettes (Will Be Tested)
4) Have SOME background knowledge with respect to PCR and Plasmids.(May be tested)
5) Customer Service Experience is a PLUS - Willingness to assist in customer service is a MAJOR PLUS
6) Familiar with Recombinant DNA Techniques is a PLUS

This job is perfect for someone who wants to get their foot in the door and gain some basic lab and team working skills for a year or two.
Shifts Available:
Part Time Shift 1: Mon-Fri, 1pm - 5pm, approx 20 hrs/week
Part Time Shift 2: Mon-Fri, 6:30pm to Close
Full Time Shift 3: Mon-Fri, 11am to 8pm
Please note end of shift is highly dependent on workload, and you may end up leaving anywhere between 10p-12am on any given work day for Shift 2.

Introductory Period: 3 months with a possibility of a raise at the end of the probationary period.
Full Time Benefits: Company provided Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance after probationary period. 60% coverage by Employer, 40% coverage by Employee for Medical, Dental and Vision is 100% covered by Employer if you enroll in Medical Coverage provided by the Company.
Full Time and Part Time Benefits: Sick leave pay accrual of up to 48 hours per year.
