Summary of Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for executing assigned experiments and tasks to support the development of Intuity Medical new blood glucose monitoring system. Under the direction of senior staff, the chemistry research associate works independently and within cross-functional teams to carry out tasks related to performance testing of product, including all blood lab testing ,validations and qualifications, R&D studies, material evaluation, method development, reagent formulation and stability studies.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

Participate in day-to-day activities of the chemistry group including blood lab and formulation lab deliverables.

Execute and analyze experiments and studies as needed.

Contribute to calibration, maintenance, and service of lab equipment and other instrumentation as well as lab supply inventory.

Prepare samples, buffers and reagents.

Summarize results and observations.

Maintain up to date training records.

Assist in the development and validation of test methods for raw material, in-process and finished good testing.

Contribute to the creation and implementation of documentation such as SOP, TP, TR and WI according to Quality System design control.

Assist in troubleshooting and resolving product performance problems and issues.

Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Position Qualifications:

Wet-lab chemistry and general laboratory skills

Excellent pipetting techniques

Data analysis skills

Ability to handle human and biological samples including blood.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with small parts.

Detail oriented with good observational skills and manual dexterity.

Flexible and adaptable with rapidly changing task priorities

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Organization and record keeping skills.

Computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel a plus

Interpersonal and team skills

Education and Experience

BS in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, life sciences or related discipline

A minimum of 1 year work experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry is desirable.

Working Conditions:

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Supervision: Supervised by Director of Chemistry
