Small residential remodeling contractor seeking apprentice carpenter.
Responsibilities will include:
Arrive on time
Follow instructions given by owner/supervisor/foreman/journeyman
Follow safety procedures
Perform demolition, debris hauling, cutting wood and other materials,
practicing all aspects of remodeling activities, installing various construction components, site cleanup.
Pick up/deliver tools and materials
Maintain and organize tools, clean shop and vehicles
Ask questions of your supervisors
Report to supervisor on job progress
Serve as on-site customer contact
Correct problems, address punch list
Communicate with supervisor regularly
You:
Legal to work in U.S.
Good English speaker
Available immediately
Have drivers license and reliable transportation
Some experience with labor or construction jobs
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Motivated, willing to listen and learn
Willing and able to work hard
Able to lift and carry 60 pounds or more
Have a smart phone
No drug use
No criminal record
Bonus: Own some of your own tools, have a truck, competent in any of the following:
Demolition, framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, tile, painting, trim/finish carpentry, reading plans, or other trades.
Live in or near Fremont, CA.

We are a small residential remodeling company based in Fremont, California. We have been doing primarily residential remodels for more than 8 years. We focus on doing very high-quality work, excellent communication, job site cleanliness, reliability, and timeline efficiency. We try our best to produce beautiful results and a smooth, positive experience with our clients. We prioritize building strong relationships between owner, staff, and clients.
Our jobs are typically within a 30 mile radius of Fremont. We've worked in Fremont, Union City, Newark, Dublin, Pleasanton, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Menlo Park, Atherton, Burlingame, etc. Your commute time will vary based on where you live, and where the job is. Work will happen between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM, rarely exceeding 8 hours, but we alter our work schedule and carpool when we can to help alleviate the commute times.
You will be working directly under a journeyman-level supervisor who will teach you about all the trades. You will need to demonstrate mental focus, a desire to learn and grow your skills and career, sustained physical labor in a variety of conditions, ability to ask questions, take instructions and remember them.
