We have a large 2 year project here in Sonoma County that we need qualified technicians and Foreman for
Data/Voice Cable Tech and helper/ apprentice cat 5e,6 fiber (santa rosa)
We are looking for well qualified, motivated, voice and data technicians for permanent positions in the Sonoma County area. Must be well spoken and customer service oriented You must be a self-motivated person that is goal and production oriented. Voice and Data techs must have experience in terminating fiber and copper etc. Must have reliable transportation. We have a large backlog of work and need help now !
General Requirements:
Knowledge and experience installing, terminating, testing Category 5 and 6 voice and data cabling.
Knowledge and experience in installing cabling pathways and structured cabling systems, data closets,
300 + drop IDF and MDF
Build and install ladder racks and terminate patch panels
fishing walls and conduits ect.
Tools:
Basic Hand Tools: yeah cordless drill screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves.
Trade Tools: Punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, tone set, 6/8 position combo crimp tool
Ability to pull fiber/Coax cable, terminate cat 5/6 RJ-45 jacks
PPE is required including hard hat, construction boots, safety glasses, and safety vest
Ability to learn and retain new information and concepts quickly
Demonstrate ability to diagnose and solve problems
Ability to follow direction and possess the ability to follow through
Ability to work in a team environment with varying disciplines and trades on site in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently on a giving cabling project once direction and scope of work is communicated.
Strong work ethic
Willingness to learn and take direction
Valid driver s license
Negative pre-employment drug test
Criminal backgrounds must meet company hiring criteria
Must be able to lift 65 lbs, safely handle and climb extension ladders and have the ability to pull cable.
Individual must demonstrate ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, operate power hand tools and work in both an office and a construction environment.
BICSI Installation or manufacturer certifications are a plus. Please forward resume with appropriate experience.
