Payroll Manager - Pacific Retirement Services

Overview:

Managing the Payroll Department for the organization, and overseeing daily activities and processes of the Payroll Department for Pacific Retirement Services (PRS), PRS affiliates and managed companies. Your primary role will be providing management oversight and review of payroll, training, and processes, as well as providing compliance reporting and ad Hoch reports for customers. Promoting operational efficiency, while ensuring that the accounting Payroll (PR) transactions are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal control, policy, and procedure.

Responsibilities:Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates in coordination with Human Resources (HR) team

Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.

Oversee the daily workflow of the department.

Provide direct staff supervision, constructive and timely performance evaluations, coaching and staff development.

Develop and maintain regulatory reports

Facilitate the establishment and implementation of payroll policies and procedures in coordination with Operations, Legal, and PRS HR. Assist with special projects and payroll implementations as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Multiple state payroll experience required

ADP payroll processing and administration required

CA wage and hour labor compliance regulations needed

Extensive knowledge of the payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Progressive supervisory and leadership skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficiency using payroll software.

Knowledge of GAAP.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

Five (5) years related payroll experience required.

Familiarity with Automatic Data Processing (ADP) preferred.Help us keep our seniors safe. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement prior to employment.
