The Hive Kitchen + Bar is seeking a bartender on a part-time basis to support bar operations and provide support during special events.
Duties Include:
Work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of The Hive: To serve our customers reliably and well. To treat our employees with respect.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with The Hive’s standard drink recipes.
Greet all newly seated bar customers according to established service standards.
Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
Take food and beverage orders promptly.
Maintain an excellent knowledge of food and beverage products on the menu.
Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change if necessary, in compliance with established procedures.
Clean and sterilize glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Be 21 years of age and 1-2 years experience.
Have extensive knowledge of beer, wine, mixed drinks, and liquor.
Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Be able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests.
