Assessment Center scheduled for August 27th
SHASCOM is recruiting for 9-1-1 Dispatchers on an open/continuous basis and will be scheduling an assessment center prior to the holidays. The assessment center will last from 1 to 3 hours, depending on how far into the process you advance. There are several slots throughout the day and these will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
To qualify as an entry-level PSD I candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age with no felony convictions, have a suitable amount of experience working with the public and providing customer service, and possess the ability to operate a computer with sufficient speed and accuracy to accomplish the core job functions for the position. Applications for Public Safety Dispatcher must also be accompanied by a 5-minute typing certificate with a net score of 45 words per minute or better. Online typing certificates will not be accepted. Marijuana use during the past 12 months is disqualifying (applicants are subject to lie detector examination prior to hire).
