Work as a team member to support the Ancient Peaks Café and help organize, prepare and execute food program. Principal functions include kitchen prep, customer service, product knowledge, menu execution and product presentation. This position is part-time (weekends are mandatory) and may include special events and extended hours. The Café Assistant reports directly to the Café Coordinator & Lead.
Job Duties:
⢠Responsible for opening and closing kitchen on a daily basis, following an open/close checklist
⢠Prepare and execute orders
⢠Ability to receive, organize and inventory all Café vendor deliveries
⢠Represent the company and brand, professionally, graciously and enthusiastically
⢠Assist with special events on-site and off-site, as needed
⢠Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and all associated areas of the tasting room
⢠Running Food and assist with busing tables
⢠Be primary dishwasher
⢠Communicate with Café Coordinator for any product needs and re-orders
⢠Perform other duties assigned by Café Coordinator and Hospitality Manager
Qualifications:
⢠Minimum 1 year experience working in food service industry
⢠Must have food service handling card
⢠Knowledge with basic kitchen equipment (i.e. slicer, fryer, flat top griddle)
⢠Be able to follow recipes and directions
⢠Proven ability to effectively communicate with diverse client group
⢠Commitment to excellence, high standards, detail oriented, coachable and highly motivated
⢠Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
⢠Flexibility and ability to manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
⢠Professional appearance and demeanor
⢠Must be able to work weekends, major holidays, wine club pick up parties, association events and industry events
⢠Fluent in English
⢠Must be at least 21 years old
⢠High school diploma or equivalent
Physical and Mental Requirements:
⢠Ability to stand for long periods of time
⢠Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
⢠Must be able to effectively stock merchandise, set-up and break down structures, tables, etc. and be able to utilize dolly cart and other equipment to assist in moving heavy objects
⢠Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Compensation:
⢠Hourly, 20-30 hour position
