HoneyCo Coffee Roasters is the sister company of Scout Coffee in San Luis Obispo, CA. We source and roast the highest quality coffees in the world, paying well above fair-trade prices, aiming to showcase the complexity and unique qualities within each bean.
We are currently hiring for a production assistant during our big roast days, about 10 hours / week with potential opportunity to learn to roast.
Duties include:
- Stamp, label, weigh, and seal all bags for retail / wholesale shipments
- Prepare all packaging materials for outgoing online orders
- Bagging all coffee from the roast day
- Ensuring all outgoing orders are complete and correct according to their packing slip
- Maintaining a list with count of completed coffee bags for inventory / invoicing
- Communicate inventory needs with the Production Manager
- Daily cleaning of production equipment (weigh and fill / band sealer)
- Delivering coffee to local wholesale customers
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
- Maintaining a waste log of coffee / materials
- Ability to bend, move, and lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to do quick math
- Extreme attention to detail
Prior experience in the coffee industry, especially within a roastery setting, is preferred but not required.
Willing to train anyone enthusiastic about learning the trade!
