At Breaking Bread Bakery, we are looking to fill a morning baker position. (We had a great one, but a family emergency has taken him away!) Were known for our breads and croissants. And we also bake some Danish, lots of cookies, and a handful of special desserts. We dont do cakes.
The position we need to fill now is for our early shift, starting around 3:30am four or five days per week. The position can be part-time, or full-time. The first 3 or 4 hours of your day will be baking off and packing products for the day's farmers markets, retail sales, and wholesale deliveries. If you are full time, then you'll finish your day with production work that includes a wide variety of tasks from mixing muffins to laminating and shaping great croissants.
Ideally, you are familiar with a variety of classic European breads and Viennoiserie, and state of the art formulas for whole grain baked goods. But the desire for quality and innovation are more critical, so we are willing to teach the right person regardless of experience and training. In fact, our best bakers have been those with little or no experience whom we have trained from scratch.
Compensation depends on your skill level. We increase baker wages as they learn to produce more types of work and achieve increasing levels of production.
