Job Summary:
Firestone Walker Brewing Co. is looking to hire a part time Visitor Center Guide for the on-site Visitors Center (VC) located at the Paso Robles facility. The VC operates a tasting room atmosphere that is both fun and educational. The VC is also the location responsible for giving tours of our brewery, giving guests a special glimpse into the production and history of Firestone Walker. A Firestone Walker Beer Educator must be friendly, easy going, enthusiastic and confident in their ability to teach the public about the craft beer industry. They possess an understanding of the brewing process, the ability to relay that information back to the general public, and have fun while doing it. Overall the position involves promoting Firestone beer by being welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Create a fun, high-energy environment
Able and willing to work all scheduled shifts.
Make customers feel welcome and relaxed
Pour beer tastings for customers properly and efficiently
Provide tours of the brewing facility and coordinate set up of tours
Divulge the correct information to the customer about each beer served
Understand and be able to explain the brewing process to customers
Greet each customer as they enter the Visitors Center
Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks efficiently
Be familiar with our POS system
Handle cash and credit card transactions
Reconcile the cash/credit drawer at the end of the day
Complete opening and closing tasks efficiently
Stock and replenish items including but not limited to beer and tour glassware
Change kegs as needed for beer tastings
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and prior customer service experience or experience pouring alcohol in a tasting room setting
Strong organizational skills and the ability to start and finish projects in an efficient manner
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Self-motivated and goal oriented
A friendly and outgoing disposition with a thirst for knowledge and desire to not only learn about beer but educate consumers about it as well
Ability to work alone or in a team and ability to get along well with co-workers
Comfortable speaking in front of people and large groups for tours
Ability to stock beermust be able to lift 30lbs regularly
Must be able to multitask, work in high energy environment and maintain order during busy days
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Ability to operate and use a PC computer, familiar with a point of sale system
Ability to pass Beer Server Certified test by Cicerone
Must be at least 21 years old
