Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, Outreach & Communications the Marketing Coordinator develops creative marketing, branding, and communications campaigns; plans and executes events; oversees the Housing tour program; supports the customer service operation for Housing’s front desks; provides logistical, administrative, and clerical assistance;

and completes research and budgeting tasks.

Key Qualifications

Exceptional communication skills including strong public speaking; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear manner, both verbally and in writing.

Strong storytelling and journalistic writing skills, as well as advanced editorial skills.

Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of campus events and subject matter expertise in relation to current events.

Knowledge of interview techniques and the ability to define and deliver messages; ability to interview, research and write compelling stories for web and print publication.

Working knowledge of marketing and public relations practices and principles. Thorough knowledge of web communication techniques, vehicles and formats and the ability to effectively use web technology to achieve communication goals.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and public relations, or a related field. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $48,000 - $66,000 annually

Classification Range: $42,180 - $76,296 annually
