Nautilus Puzzles is an established online specialty retailer serving consumers across the USA via our website and on Amazon. We are looking for a self-starter who is able to work autonomously and without a lot of supervision to cover one shift a week. The ideal candidate will be very responsible, comfortable around machinery, and able to work in a fast paced production environment. We are looking for a hard working person who takes great pride in their work. No experience necessary, as training will be provided.
The best candidate will be a team player with a sense of humor who is VERY detail-oriented.
Position: Laser Operator/Production Associate
Hours: Full Time INCLUDING weekends and some HOLIDAYS. Rotating shifts.
Start date: Immediately
Responsibilities: Laser operation and production duties
- Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on equipment (laser cutters, printers, vacuum press, shrink wrap machine, compressor etc.)
- Stage raw materials at each work-center for the day’s production.
- Load and unload machines.
- Perform typical laser cutting operations.
- Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
- Check quality of product machined and provide immediate feedback to supervisor on jobs not meeting set-up and/or production standards
- Learn the basics of Corel Draw and Job Control software
- Follow instructions of the Production Manager and conduct all work according to good safe labor practices and maintain a clean work area.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufacturers machine recommendations.
- Cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Computers/Laptops (Mac & PC), laser machines, compressors, printers, vacuum press, shrink wrap machine, cutters
Preferred Qualifications:
- EXTREMELY strong attention to detail
- No experience on laser machines necessary as training will be provided
- High School diploma required
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and processes
- Some drawing and reading comprehension skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Excellent attendance history
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs frequently.
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
- Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day.
- Willingness to work in a warehouse environment that is not heated or air-conditioned
- Comfortable working in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection.
- Excellent dexterity as many jobs require the handling of many small components.
- Good hearing and strong communication skills.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Starting Pay: $16.50 per hour
Number of Hours: Full Time, 30 - 50 depending on schedule
