OPTIONS Family of Services, a local non-profit organization, strives to help people with intellectual disabilities meet their wants and desires as citizens within their community. We serve 200 people from Paso Robles to Santa Maria. Daily, we improve the lives of those we serve.
We have full time positions available in Atascadero at our Crisis Programs. Hours available are evening and weekends.
Crisis Services staff work with individuals with disabilities who are currently in crisis due to medical, behavior or mental health issues. Staff help them work on their social interaction and behavioral goals, as well as learning independent living skills. Staff also provide support with other personal needs such as passing medication, budgeting and other hygiene needs.
Education/Experience: Successful applicants must have at least one year of experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges and intellectual disabilities, a High School Diploma or GED. Strong English oral and written communication skills are also required.
Other Skills/Abilities: ability to successfully complete First Aid/CPR, Pro-ACT, Driver Safety and Direct Support Professional training. Must have a valid California Drivers License with 3 years driving experience and a driving record acceptable to OPTIONS' insurance company. Must also have a clean criminal record and receive clearance from DOJ and FBI.
Physical requirements: Essential functions of this position require that employees regularly sit, stand and walk. Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 20 lbs.
$17.25 per hour. OPTIONS offers a full benefit package for full time employees (30+ hours per week), including medical, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation/sick leave (16 days per year), and a 401(k).
