We operate eleven luxury rental cottages in North Atascadero. We are constantly improving the the property. We're located near the San Anselmo Road exit off Highway 101 in Atascadero, very close to Kmart. Job responsibilities include a diverse variety of maintenance and repair jobs. This may include cleaning, painting, landscaping, woodworking, furniture repair, plumbing repairs, and electrical repairs.
No prior work experience is necessary. You will be trained for any projects requiring skills which you do not already possess. Experience in any trades or crafts will be helpful. Work needs to be executed to a high degree of detail and quality. Many of the projects require discipline and patience. This requires a person that enjoys and takes pride in doing high quality detailed work. Work must be executed in an organized and methodical manner, keeping work areas clean and organized. The skills you learn will be helpful beyond the experience and work you perform here.
Motivation and a positive attitude when learning new skills and executing them is essential. You must be able to work efficiently without supervision once you have the skill and ability for any particular project. Your work will be supervised until we are confident of your ability and responsibility. You may have regular interactions with guests. Consistent motivation and a good positive attitude are necessary.
Our work is both indoors and outdoors. We typically manage to do outdoor work when the weather is comfortable - but not in all cases. In general, you must be able to work Monday through Friday during regular business hours. You must be clean, neatly groomed, and wear clean clothes. We can be flexible on times and hours, and will occasionally require you to reciprocate.
We are in the business of supplying a quality lodging experience for professional customers. No cell phone or music is allowed while working here. If you need to: make/receive phone calls, text message, email, listen to music while working, have regular breaks, or any other regular distractions then you are not cut out for this position. Drug users, alcohol abusers, and smokers need not apply.
Starting pay ranges between $12 and $18 per hour for the first six months (1000 hours). Starting pay will depend on experience and abilities. Pay will be increased after completion of 1000 hours depending on performance and attitude. This will initially be a part time job. Working hours will typically be weekday mornings. However we are flexible on that depending on your personal circumstances and our needs. Hours can increase once we are confident of your skills and ability to work unsupervised, and our ability to organize work (including the tools and supplies). An organized and focused self-starter that can independently identify work which needs to be done, and requires less help and instructions will get more hours.
