AMERICANSTAR TRAILWAYS, a Central Coast motorcoach company, is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician. This position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing all types of buses and trucks under minimal supervision. Repairs will include Preventative Maintenance Inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, tire repairs, hydraulic systems, warranty procedures, driveline, steering & suspension, electrical trouble-shooting, AC and other duties as assigned.
In addition, will assist other Technicians in repairs, compliance with Safety and EPA procedures and continue to learn additional mechanical duties such as advanced diagnostics, internal engine and transmission repairs.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at least 2 years of experience and tech school, dealership or community college training
Results-oriented team player, "a professional with a personality"
Detail oriented and able to perform multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment
Possesses a high level of knowledge of all mechanical and electrical systems
Must be able to document repairs, read codes and instructions on the computer
General knowledge of the rules and regulations mandated by CHP, DOT and FMCSA
Clean DMV Record -- commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement a plus
Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends and on-call rotations
Must possess a minimum set of hand tools
Strong sense of customer service and self-motivated
Welding certification and fabrication skills helpful
BUS REPAIR EXPERIENCE A PLUS
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months in their current position and possess a record of good performance, attendance, safety and teamwork.
JOB DUTIES:
Primary function is to inspect, repair and maintain all equipment in a safe, efficient, timely, cost-effective and practical manner
Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (A,B,C &D) inspection on a mixed bus fleet
Prepare and complete official paperwork and maintenance records daily
Maintain open communication with all members of our team
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Perform all work accordance with established safety procedures
Mandatory random drug testing
Various job duties as needed/as they come up
