Duties
Responsible for every step of data flow, leading activities to retrieve clinical image data from internal and external sources
Work with scientists, contractors, and IT staff to curate, organize, and document clinical images from Genentech and Roche trials
Support data integration efforts across diverse data sources, including integrating image data with annotations and tabular clinical data, and integrating to visualization and analytical tools
Lead operational data integration efforts with external and internal partners, standardizing interfaces and providing feedback on relevant specifications
Develop and maintain robust and fit-for-purpose solutions for data management, governance, provisioning, QC, and visualization using databases, file systems, and cloud platforms
Continually search for opportunities to automate workflows and streamline processes
Support development of image processing and machine learning/deep learning (ML/DL) algorithms and pipelines
Direct communication with outside vendors and in-house staff to reconcile data transfer problems
Reporting on imaging assets to business stakeholders
Skills
Proven experience with data warehousing, data ingestion, and data profiling. Proficiency with relational database queries (SQL), pivoting data, and working with clinical data standards (e.g. SDTM format)
Very good practical IT skills and mastering of standard technologies (REST APIs, Linux operating systems)
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Matlab, shell scripting
Experience with medical image formats (e.g., DICOM, nifti) is required. Proficiency with proprietary formats a plus
Comfortable working with other teams, scientific computing and data architects, to offer robust and fit-for-purpose solutions
Experience with medical/clinical image data analysis techniques
Experience with ML/DL a strong plus
Experience with clinical imaging in multiple therapeutic areas such as Oncology, Ophthalmology and Neurology a plus
Understanding of clinical trials preferred
Excellent communication and presentation skills for presenting results and ensuring alignment with stakeholders and business partners.
Strong team player, flexible and with a high degree of self-organization, proactive and able to work in matrix environment
