Stockton Golf & Country Club is currently seeking qualified chefs and skilled cooks to work in our esteemed kitchen. We serve top tier cuisine in our restaurant and at all of our banquet events. We are looking for skilled, reliable, punctual people who are passionate about food. We need team players who can take direction, work together in a fast paced and high intensity environment, and who take pride in their artistry. We need chefs who are available on the weekends, Sunday in particular, and who can commit to service on the holidays. Chef Berlin Lillard is passionate, has a positive attitude, and is looking for folks who can bring heart and soul to his eclectic kitchen.
Line Chef/Cook Responsibilities
Include:
Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
Preparing food for service & banquets (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Job brief
We are looking for a professional line chef/cook to prepare food to the exact chefs specifications and to set up stations for our menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our member satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Responsibilities
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report to, and follow executive or sous chefs instructions
Clean up station and safely secure leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food orders come out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and members.
Requirements
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook.
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
Familiar with industrys best practices.
Knowledge of how to prepare the 5 Mother Sauces.
Possesses a current CA Food Handlers Certificate.
Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
