Banquet Server Job Summary
Provide assistance to banquet managers in the serving of guests during banquet functions to ensure positive guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ï Set up for events placing tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement and setting up a buffet
ï Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars
ï Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner
ï Carrying plates of food on trays and serving guests
ï Serve the beverage and food in the appropriate order and in tune with the expectation of the supervisor
ï After the banquet, reset banquet room in accordance with the supervisors specifications to ensure readiness of the room for other functions
ï Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
ï Adhere to grooming and appearance standards
ï Treat all guests and co-workers in a professional, polite manner
ï Accommodate guests while circulating room
ï Respond politely to guest requests and anticipate their needs
ï Abide all laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
Qualification Requirements
ï Excellent oral communication and listening skills
ï Excellent Customer Service Skills
ï High School Diploma or equivalent
ï Valid California license
ï Previous experience preferred but not necessary
ï Successfully pass background and drug screen
ï Banquet Servers MUST provide their own uniform
Physical Demands and abilities
ï Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
ï Frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
ï Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
ï Ability to reach with hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly
ï Ability to work in fast paced environment
