Position Description
As a Traffic Control Technician, you will be responsible for protecting the public, your teammates and our clients as they perform work on or near roadways. You will set up traffic cones, portable signs and other equipment and then conduct flagging operations to safely move traffic through the work zone.
Basic Qualifications
Must have at least 6 months experience in traffic control
Previous flagger certificate a plus
Valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
All offers of employment contingent on successful completion of a drug and back ground screening
Physical Demands
This is a physically demanding job, with constant effort throughout each day:
Standing for long periods of time without breaks or sitting
Regularly lifting loads of up to 50 pounds on your own, and up to 100 pounds with help
Standing and walking on uneven surfaces
Climbing in and out a pickup truck bed
Remaining focused and alert for long periods of time
Work Environment
Working on roadways near traffic, heavy equipment and power lines
Working in all weather conditions
Exposure to loud noises
