East Bay calibration facility in need of a full-time Quality Manager /Calibration Technician.

Quality Assurance (QA) Manager /Calibration Technician will ensure quality remains at the heart of the organization. He/she coordinates all internal and external activities necessary to meet both company and customer quality standards. These include management systems such as ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/IEC 17025, philosophies such as Total Quality Management, and methodologies such as Continuous Improvement and Risk Management. The technician will test, calibrate, and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards, and assists in formulating calibration standards. Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment, according to blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidates must have strong organizational and pro Writes and maintains Quality SOPs and departmental work instructions.

Performs all auditing tasks,

Conducts vendor assessments

Resolves customer complaints.

Defines quality measurement and data collection methods,

Tracks metrics to demonstrate quality achievement.

Manages all quality records.

Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved;

Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.

Disassembles instruments and equipment, using hand tools, and inspects components for defects.

Measures parts for conformity with specifications, using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.

Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry. Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment.

Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.

Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.

Requirements

Proficiency with the ISO 17025 and ISO 9001: 2015 standard

BS or equivalent experience trade/technical schooling; and 5 or more years hands on experience in calibration/metrology field or equivalent military training

Previous/current experience in the pharmaceutical industry (or other regulated environment) preferable

Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to work on a team are essential.

Highly developed Organizational and time management skills

Driven and poses leadership qualities.
