Physical Security Build Specialist Bay Area, CA Full Time/Contract Overview: The ideal candidate shall be a highly trained physical security build consultant with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the corporate environment. They shall have excellent written, project management, oral communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate shall have demonstrated experience in applying best practice in the design of physical security globally. The candidate shall also have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in technical support for access control and CCTV /IP systems. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design the physical security systems for build projects , while keeping best security practice/policies in place
This position requires knowledge on the operating system of the Access Control/Alarm Systems
Must demonstrate excellent communicate on and interpersonal skills
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for design of all aspects of physical security technology & systems
Create security CAD designs for projects and maintain accurate site drawings
Create and maintain physical security design requirements and policy documents
Perform periodic audits with site regional security managers (RSM) to ensure site compliance is being met
Keep up to date on current technology in the market and recommend ways to improve the global design
Maintain and update certifications
Manage programs and projects for physical security builds
Knowledge in server management (both physical and virtual)
Knowledge of physical security requirements
Serve as a point of contact for security related questions during and after a build project
Oversee and certify all work done by integrators is completed properly and to company standards
Provide technical diagnostic for escalation
Collaborate with internal and external business counterparts
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strong customer service approach
Experience with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Construction Standards Institute (CSI), NFPA 731: Standard for the Installation of Electronic Premises Security Systems and standards and processes
Experience working with architectural design teams, providing SD, DD, CD and CA services
Experience working with contractors and construction managers. Deep experience with cross trade coordination of

Electrical (A/C, D/C, Low & High Voltage)

Architectural Coordination
Design security systems based on established standards and equipment, using AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Visio and other software tools. Daily AutoCAD use is required
Conducts site security surveys, security assessments and security audits of physical security systems at company owned and leased sites
Provides detailed project status reports for key stakeholders. Communicates issues and recommendations for resolution in a timely fashion
Maintains project trackers and project management software for tracking of all projects
Maintains current knowledge with industry best practices and client ’s design guidelines
Works with a team and/or individually to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with established deadlines and within prescribed budget
Skill Requirements: Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) – Engineer, Architecture, Project Management , or security related field or Demonstrated expertise in the field of at least 5 years in the corporate environment
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), Electronic Safety and Security (ESS) Designer and/or Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) preferred
Experience and Competencies:
Minimum of five years of security consulting experience
Minimum of three years of security project management experience
The candidate must be a highly trained physical security build consultant with demonstrated experience in corporate build projects
Self-motivated, able to work independently and has demonstrated a willingness to work with a diverse public
Detailed Knowledge of CCTV/ ACS (Lenel/Milestone preferred) – Hardware, software, network and global standards
Skillful in 2d auto-cad designs
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and utilize sound judgment
Working knowledge of card access, security and safety systems
Strong knowledge of PC’s and Microsoft program s (Word, Excel, PowerPoint , SharePoint, OneNote, Projects)
Excellent planning, organizing and project management skills
