Technical Sales Consultant (Science background striving for a sales career in Life Science)GENERAL SUMMARY: Primary goal is to accomplish sales and profit objective for the respective territory through daily phone calls and follow through.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand and utilize product features, benefits, and applications accompanied with selling skills to identify and qualify leads, initiate the sales process & successfully promote and consummate the sales of Phenomenex products to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan

Effectively manage all stages of the sales cycle and manage the customer experience. The position coordinates sales processes for assigned accounts, primarily via the telephone and e-mail but also using face to face sales techniques for an assigned geography in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans.

Demonstrate use of telephone selling skills, such as making good opening statements, connecting with the customer, building relationships, asking open-ended and high gain questions to determine needs, provide solutions through the use of our products, creating the value proposition and closing the deal.

Prospect and develop relationships with new customers. Coordinate on-going customer relationships with a particular focus on up selling and cross selling.

Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to scientists in the separation sciences.

Develop and implement game plan, reviewing performance and improving current account sales & support programs for assigned territory.

Manage daily activities and territory opportunities in CRM

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology or other Life Science;

At least 1 year of experience in office setting, preferred;

Additional Requirements:

In depth understanding of chromatographic science products and instrumentation and our markets, preferred

Strong Effective Communication; excellent oral & written communication skills,

Positive attitude with a great outlook to actioning objectives and works with integrity.

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly with a willingness to obtain functional knowledge and understanding of company products, policies and procedures.

Superior telephone etiquette, build relationships and problem solving in the moment with clear details, facts, and follow up activities, speaks credibly with customers, delivers a compelling message with ability to go off script

Strong negotiation skills with excellent listening, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to compile and present data, prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines, ability to work well in stressful environments and to remain calm and positive in adverse situations.
