MaxorPlus is seeking a Manager, Formulary Operations to lead an outstanding formulary ops team. The critical function of the Manager, Formulary Operations is to manage formulary and drug information tasks and projects, as well as create formulary and utilization management strategies. The Manager, Formulary Operations is expected to serve as a point of issue escalation, and collaborate with other department leadership to achieve company goals, development of best practices and approaches to solving formulary needs.Lead Formulary Team, including formulary operations pharmacists and clinical associates.

Oversee and maintain all formulary and drug lists maintained at Maxor Plus.

Manage Formulary UM development, to include creation and updates of all clinical criteria. (i.e PA, QLL, ST)

Ensure creation and proper dissemination of Clinical Newsletters, Pipeline/Patent Expiration and relevant Drug Information.

Assist Account Managers as needed to address client requests or issues.

Coordinate drug recall outreach with compliance department

Ensure creation and proper dissemination of communication pieces on formulary

Maintain current knowledge of drug therapies and drug reactions and interactions by reading professional literature, attending seminars and through professional affiliations.

Provides drug information to meet the needs of medical and nursing staff members through direct contact or in-service programs.

Prepare provider newsletters or articles to keep providers updated.

Prepare drug reviews, agendas, and other required materials for Pharmacy & Therapeutic (P&T) Committee meetings as assigned.

Participate as an active member and serves as Secretary of assigned P&T Committees.

Communicate P&T committee/plan formulary changes, recommendations, quantity limitations and other clinical initiatives internally (i.e., systems, operations, account managers, customer service) and as otherwise instructed.

Attend and participate in other programs, committees, meetings, and functions as required.

Assist the VP, Clinical Initiatives in the development of clinical, utilization management, ad hoc and production reports and programs.

Assist the VP, Clinical Initiatives in the coordination of proprietary clinical software and interface with IT staff.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy required. Must be licensed in, and in good standing.Experience: 3+ years’ formulary management experience in the managed care and/or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industries.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.

Good computer skills in general with the ability to learn new software programs and applications

Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public.

Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.

Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

General knowledge of budgeting, cost estimation, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
