Job Description

As a leader within our commercial team, you will be at the core of PeerWell's mission, growing our ability to serve people across channels and access points to all potential patients through partnerships with large health plans. The ideal candidate wants to build a big company, brings a passion for helping people, and is world-class at consultative sales and partnership experience.

You will be responsible for commercializing partnerships of PeerWell’s products with large health plans, across all plan options: ASO, PPO, HMO, Medicare Advantage, and Managed Medicaid.

Working with partner success, operations, and marketing teams, this is an opportunity to get a rapidly growing, world-changing technology into the hands of millions of people. We are looking for a star VP of Health Plan Partnerships to reach people at scale.

Qualifications

About You

  • You must love selling and crafting win-win partnerships. The right candidate will love the art of persuasion, think deeply about positioning, and put the right energy in the room in every encounter.

  • Experience selling an innovative healthcare solution to self-funded employers, health plans, and other "risk-bearing" stakeholders in healthcare. Existing relationships with health plans will warrant strong consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships at the senior executive/C-level with national health plans in the US: Anthem, Humana, BCBSx, United, etc.

    • Existing relationships will be important

  • Develop strategic go-to-market initiatives for sales channels, presentations to customers

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of account executives to drive PeerWell’s sales metrics

  • Verifiable history of hitting large sales targets in previous roles

  • Consultative selling experience: a thoughtful, meticulous approach to identifying and solving problems for potential customers

  • Experience with structuring various pricing models that align with customer needs and business goals.

  • Experience establishing provider contracts with health plans, complying with all state and federal laws related to the corporate practice of medicine.

  • Ability to present clearly and persuasively to key decision-makers

  • Experience proactively managing pipeline: qualifying deals, estimating close dates, setting accurate deal sizes

  • You want to carry the bag yourself AND build and train an organization

  • Demonstrated collaboration with internal colleagues (marketing, product, ops, etc.) to support sales momentum

  • A passion for improving the health of millions of people

  • The ability to thrive in a startup environment

  • Provide quarterly and yearly sales forecasts and goals for senior management team and board of directors

  • Manage P&L across the sales organization: maximizing revenue while staying within budget

Experience

  • Bachelors degree or related field or relevant professional experience

  • 8+ years of sales leadership experience

  • An understanding of the complexities of healthcare businesses (eg. medical loss ratios, bundled payments, capitation)

  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Fluency with presentation tools: Keynote, Powerpoint

  • Represent PeerWell at industry events as a speaker or presenter
